Becoming a Star

There are just so many people who have the aspiration to break into show business, but unfortunately this is not an easy thing to do even if you have talent. Some people are born with the talent and the looks and through years of polishing what they have they can get into show business, but most people have to work even harder to even be considered. I’m tempted to just advise you to sit at home and rent dvd on line – in the long-run you might just have more fun. I know you’re not going to take my advice though, so here goes..

Making the determination as to whether you have the skills to make it in show business should be your first priority. While you can always hire someone to teach you to act, without the desire and willingness you will never make it. You will have to hold down a job and be able to focus on both work as well as your acting career which can being flexible is important to making it big, this goes for both acting as well as the effort you will have to put forth in handling your schedules.

Once you are certain that you have what it takes, before you go and start trying out every audition you can get into once you move to Hollywood, start off by making sure that you can pay your bills by getting a flexible job. This is very important because if you wait until you are broke to find work, then you may miss an opportunity of a lifetime. Keep a steady yet flexible job until you get that big break.

Make sure that you also take the time to join and attend acting classes. You will be able to hear stories about others’ auditions as well as learn how to market yourself effectively and write a great resume; not to mention it will help you polish up your acting skills in the process. While all of this is occurring you will also need to socialize and get out there to meet new people as often as you can because these people may just create a channel for you to benefit from.

Of course you cannot forget the importance of starting off small. Do not go after the large producers at first, but instead look for the smaller things that can get you noticed; even if there is little or no pay. Many stars started off in commercials and independent films. In order to get these local gigs, you will need an agent but make sure that they are not a scammer which can be seen by one asking for money up front. Ask around, especially in those acting classes to find the perfect agent for you.

You must never forget all of those people that helped you reach your goals once you make it big in show business. When your movies are big box-office, and your films are top earners at Netflix, don’t forget, some of these people have gone out of there way to make you who you are. And even if you are never able to be on the big screen, people still watch commercials and independent films. Even if you are stuck doing these smaller gigs the rest of you life, you can make a good income from them and achieve your goal of being recognized on television.
