Simba is deceived by Scar, his uncle, and convinced that he is responsible for the death of his father, so he leaves the kingdom. Once he has grown he returns to his home, discovers the lies Scars told, and takes his rightful place, as king of the jungle.
Man On The Moon: Man On The Moon is a recount of the turbulent and short life of comedian Andy Kaufman, who died in 1984, at the age of 35. His controversial style of humor was often troubling to many people. He gained huge notoriety for his role as Latka in the TV comedy series Taxi. Jim Carrey is simply brilliant in reduplicating Andy and his characters.
Titanic: It is the maiden voyage of the spectacular new ship. People are exited to make the voyage from England to New York. The Titanic is deemed unsinkable, but then the unthinkable happens, and the ship starts sinking into the Atlantic.
Dead Man Walking: With his execution date is approaching, death row prisoner Mathew Poncelet is befriended by Sister Helen. Sister Helen sees a different side to Mathew than most get to see, and she his suffering. On the other side of the fence, she witnesses the anger and outrage of the families of Mathew’s murder victims. It will take all her faith to carry her through whatever outcome lies ahead.
Do The Right Thing: This is a Spike Lee Directed film. On a hot summer day in a Brooklyn neighborhood, things are heating up. With various people from different races and cultures, all struggling with their own, or each other’s problems, things have reached a boiling point. The crescendo of which is a racially motivated outbreak of violence.
Pearl Harbor: This epic movie looks at the devastation of that eventful day, December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. This story follows the incredible courage of a nurse and two daring pilots, who bravely move forward, all the time trying to deal with the overwhelming catastrophe before them.
Role Model: Two adolescent adults crash the company truck while partying. To avoid jail time they are offered 150 hours of community service. They are stuck mentoring hardship kids. Maybe jail time would have been easier.
Malcolm X: This movie chronicles the life African America leader Malcolm X. He was a controversial leader of the black movement in the 1950′s and 1960′s. He became a Muslim, and then a Muslim leader He was eventually assassinated in New York in 1965.
