I’ll bet you’ve seen a tuxedo or two for sale at your local super-store! Sure would be simple to just toss that tux into the cart with the groceries and head for home, wouldn’t it? Well, if you want a tuxedo for under a hundred bucks, that might be the way to go.
However, a good question to ask is: how worthwhile is it to buy a a discount tuxedo? To answer this question, it is better to focus on the circumstances of when you would use it. If you need to use it a lot then it might be better to invest more money in a high quality product. If not then maybe a discount tuxedo is right for you, especially if you’re strapped for cash.
If you decide you want to try out a cheap tuxedo, you will find that there is actually a lot of choice in colors and styles. However, there is not much reason to buy anything but your standard basic black tux.
One might get a discount tuxedo as a way of making sure you have a last minute alternative for particular occasions. The black tuxedo offers the most practical diversity, as it can be worn to virtually any wedding or funeral.
If you’re thinking of buying it to wear to work each day at the office, you will have to remember that as it’s cheap it will probably crease badly throughout the day. If you care about the way you look and care about your job you will very soon realize it was a mistake and you should have bought better quality.
This of course doesn’t change that the discount tuxedo is optimal for incidental use. Moreover, buying a tuxedo in this manner guarantees that the shirt and tie will always cohere in the ensemble; no need to mix and match.
Bear in mind that cheap garments are prone to embarrassing disasters. Don’t expect a hundred dollar tux to be put together as well as a tailored garment, and don’t be surprised if you are plagued by falling buttons and unraveling seams.
Finally, remember that if you pay the money to have a suit made just for you, it will fit you just right. If you buy a discount tux, it will be hit and miss. The chances that it will suit you to a tee are extremely slim!
