Every bride wants to look her best for her big day and nothing can boost her self-confidence like shaving off a few pounds to make that dress fit even better. So, if this is you, then here are few tips to help you achieve your goal.

First of all, you can’t expect to get to your desired weight in just week or two. Just as planning the wedding itself takes time, so does preparing your body. Fast weight loss is usually not healthy weight loss and the pounds usually return within a few weeks.

Pills that claim to help you lose 20 pounds in a week are false hope, expensive and possibly harmful. Weight loss is like marriage; it’s a life-time commitment. It wouldn’t make sense to lose weight before the wedding and then find yourself gain it all back after the marriage. It is very important that you consider permanent changes to what you eat and how you live, instead of just making short-term alterations.

Planning a wedding is stressful, when you add the stress of being hungry all the time, unpleasant results will occur. Therefore, it is important not to deprive yourself of food. Starvation diets do NOT work, they just will make you irritable, hungry, and will lower your metabolism drastically.

The last thing you want while planning a wedding is lacking energy! It can be hard to have regular mealtimes when you’re busy, but avoid snacking on the run. Eating healthy and in regular intervals will help you keep your energy going and going.

If you’re a soda drinker, try drinking water instead. You should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day. This will help you be less hungry so that your calorie intake at meals will be smaller.

Reduce your sugar and salt consumption. This can be especially hard if you’re a junk food addict. Salt may cause bloating and make it more difficult for your body to eliminate harmful toxins. Eat foods high in fiber and low in fat, instead. Make a difference in your calorie intake with whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean protein these things will help you lose weight.

This doesn’t mean that you have to deprive yourself all the time. Try picking one day a week where you allow yourself to indulge in your favorite treats. This can actually help boost your metabolism so that when you go back to your regular diet the next day you will actually lose weight from eating more.

Don’t think that just because you have alot of planning to do that you can’t make time to exercise. No time to go to the gym regularly, that’s okay there are ways to exercise daily anyways. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. So, your destination is only several blocks? Walk, don’t drive. These steps are more time consuming, but the results will make you happy.
