You can get a damaged, ugly skin if you are always under the sun exposing yourself to its harmful rays. You can get skin impurities and other skin problems. Thus, it’s best that you avoid staying under the sun. However sometimes you don’t have any choice at all but to experience sun’s harmful rays. If ever the need arises, just be sure to wear sunscreen or have protection.
You basically have to choose the right sunscreen to be sure. You can try sunscreen with SPF 15. You can also try a sunscreen that has the potential to block both UVB and UVA rays. But just be sure that sunscreen is noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic to have healthy pores. Also, in addition to SPF 15, you can also check if sunscreen has “broad spectrum protection” or UVA protection.
Aside from wearing sunscreen, you can also try to avoid being under the sun when sun’s rays are strongest generally from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. This may spare you from higher risk of getting a damaged, ugly skin. But if ever it is unavoidable to be under the sun when sun’s rays are strongest, just be sure to wear sunscreen and try to reapply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours. One sign it is already safer for you to be under the sun is when your shadow is no longer very prominent.
Also, you can try wearing a hat, this can help. If you are taking birth control pills or prescription acne medications, you can also take a time off in taking them as they increase your sensitivity to the sun. If you can’t stop taking them, you can just try to increase your sun protection instead.
Aside from your skin, your eyes can also be damaged by the sun’s harmful rays. You may be actually not aware of this but now that you know try to protect your eyes as much as possible by wearing sunglasses that provide 100% protection. Normally protection should be from UV rays. Your skin is indeed important but you will agree that your eyes are even more important so be careful.
