One of the most popular garments used by community groups, by merchandisers and commercial business is the embroidered polo shirt. We all know that employees and customers are guaranteed to feel comfy wearing a polo shirt, but the difficulty comes when you have to decide what to have embroidered onto them.
You’ll most definitely want to have some kind of logo or the name of your company printed on your corporate clothing in one way or another. You could do this using just the capitalised initials or by using one of the letters to make an image (for instance an O as a smiley face). The limits are endless with what you can do to come up with a logo, but if you’re wanting to have them embroidered then simplicity makes for much clearer images. Remember to be creative but don’t alter the logo so much that customers can’t read what it’s supposed to say. The best designs are innovative yet very simple and if a 5 year old child can’t draw it then you should make it less complex.
If your company’s signature colours and logo are very similar to a rival’s and you want to make yours stand out then why not have a pattern embroidered onto unusual parts of your polo shirts? This might be a simple thin black line embroidered on the hem of the collar and on the bottom of the shirt, or a smaller, simplified version of the logo on the hem of the sleeve. You might even consider reversing the colours (for instance if you have red thread on a black shirt then why not change it to black thread on a red shirt?) so that you’re still using the same scheme but with a starkly different look.
Try injecting some alternative clothing ideas by handing out matching jackets or hats to employees who have jobs which require them. By doing this you get to keep the original logo design, but still have each group of staff looking different and recognisable from the rest.Although, sometimes this can cause you to go over-budget with your corporate clothing and varying the design of the logo or font is a better idea. One idea could be to take an ‘O’ (if there is one) in your company name and turn it into a smiley face to denote customer service staff. To achieve something that can take years to set up, being able to separate each department with just a few different threads is remarkable.
Thinking up logo designs to have applied to batch of embroidered polo shirt garments doesn’t have to be a week-long soul searching chore. Try writing down some of these pointers and showing them to your management team and get their ideas too. You should be able to come up with some truly unique ideas that will not only get your staff or the embroidered polo shirt product noticed, but also market the company effectively too.
